The Authorities have given say that in this field, Sir William Wallace encountered CospatricK (or Patrick eighth Earl of Dunbar & March) when the latter had assembled nine hundred men, Wallace with half that number compelled the Earl, after a terrible conflict, to retreat to Cockburnspath, while he fell back on Dunbar. |
