012 | The site of a bridge which was over a small stream, at the base of Thornton Law. This bridge was removed about 18 years ago. There is now nothing remaining of it except a small part of the abutments - Tradition says that Edwin Prince of Northumbria was Killed and buried in a field near this bridge. The site of the grave cannot now be pointed out. It was the same Edwin who gave his name to Edinburgh. |
