This parish was for centuries Known as Linton; after the reformation it was called Prestonhaugh: and at a later period got the name "PrestonKirK" which it now retains. It is in the presbytery of Dunbar, and Synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. Patron Sir C. Dalrymple, Bart [Baronet].
