010 | [situation] North side of Church Street on margin of River Tyne A plain built edifice in connection with the Scottish Episcopal Church, erected in 1770 by subscription. Its interior is fitted up with a gallery and seats for the accommodation of about 250 persons, average attendance about 130. The Minister is the Rev. [Reverend] F. Trail whose stipend amounts to £150 with parsonage. It is supposed that a chapel or burial ground formerly was here on account of some human bones being exposed when an addition was put to this chapel in 1843. |
