A small fort on the n. [north] east side of Penshiel Hill, it is surrounded by a ditch and in the centre is a circular mound about 4 feet in hight, it is supposed to have been a signal station between the camp at White Castle Nick. and the Priestlaw farm;

Table Rings [note] This object has been examined on the ground by Captain James R.E. [Royal Engineers] It his opinion that it is not a Fort nor camp but supposes it to be the remains of a Sheepfold or some similar work.
