013 | An extensive valley extending from a little north of the farm of "Strone" to "Ballymenoch" a distance of about 5 miles. The bottom of the glen which is from ½ a mile to ¾th broad is flat and chiefly meadow or arable land. The hills rise to a considerable height on each side of it, particularly on the North east. "Fruin Water" pursues a winding course through the whole of its extent. In the glen was fought the battle between the Colquhouns and McGregors in 1602. |
