013 "On the farm of Balnock there are still some remains of a Burying Ground called Chapel Dermid"
New. Stat. Acct. [Statistical Account]
Only a small portion of this now remains it having been mostly ploughed up. It was never inclosed and all that remains to mark the spot are a few small stones. There is no record of any chapel ever having stood here and the name "Chapel Dermid" is only known to John Macfarlane, Durland, who remembers it to have been so called 60 years ago. Till a few years ago an apple tree grew over the top of it (the burying ground). It is situated on what at one time was the farm of Balnock.
