019 ; 025 A line of Railway between Edinburgh & Glasgow having considerable traffic upon it. There are two Stations in the Parish - one at Castlecary and another at Croy. The Electric Telegraph is on the south side of the line. This Railway twice crosses the Roman wall in its course through the Parish, considerably damaging its remains in both places.

The remains of the ditch of the Roman Wall passes close to the Farmhouse, on the north side, near which there is a Dam, made for Supplying an Engine with water belonging to a Coal Pit at the foot of the hill, near NetherCroy.
