006 | A scattered village on the side of Loch Lomond, which extends from "Claddach beag" on the east to "Claureoch" on the west. It is much frequented by visitors during the summer season for whose accomodation there is a commodious hotel. Communication is kept up with Glasgow by means of Steamboats which ply on Loch Lomond daily during Summer, and a small wooden Pier projects into the Loch, at the south of the village, for the convenience of passangers. The Parish Schoolhouse stands in the east of the village. It also contains a Post Office. |
