140.07 A Corn Mill with Farmsteading attached, former two stories high later one, tiled And in Good repair, the property of Lord Abercromby - Airthrey Castle.

It is stated in the new Statistical Account that a Tower once stood upon this farm; Enquiry has been made but its Site could not be pointed out. Attempts has been made by some gentlemen in this neighbourhood to establish its Site, but they have had no - nothing of a documentary nature sufficiently authentic to produce satisfactory results. The Site therefore must be considered as lost.

140.07 An Antique looking dwelling house three Stories high and slated, together with a number of out-houses, now used as a farmsteading. The dwelling House was formerly the Seat of Sir Ralph Abercromby - but has not been occupied by that family since the present magnificent Seat - Airthrey Castle was erected. Brucefield is not in the best repair.
