140.05 A large boulder stone lying on the surface on the west slope and near the top of King's Seat Hill. It is about four feet long, two deep and three wide. Tradition says that King Robert Bruce sat on this stone on one occasion, from which circumstance the name is derived.

140.05 A small oval shaped hill on the top of which stands Clackmannan Tower. It has a pretty Steep declevity towards the south, west, and north, and falls off with a very gentle slope towards the east. Probable height, from its base 100 feet.

The name is derived from the circumstance of a Chapel having stood near it at one time, but its site Cannot be pointed out by any person in the neighbourhood.
