005 This name applies to a mark in the rock on the fore-shore resembling the print of a man's foot, and is in appearance something like this [sketch inserted here] The tradition is that Samson steped from this place to the rocks at Thurso-east, and so great was the pressure of his foot on the rock from which he step'd that he left his footmark thereon.
