018 A partially cultivated hill, and one of the highest in this County: the Parish Boundary passes over it's top. The "Georgemas Fair was formerly held on the top of this hill; *besides, it was a great military station, or common place of rendevous in Caithness of Old, and it was here that "Comes Magbragdus" - a Scots nobleman - assembled a great army to attack Liotus in "Paludes Scidensibus"; i.e. extensive tracts of plain mossy ground in the vicinity, - and to the South - of this hill. Partly the property of Sir P.M. Thriepland Bart. [Baronet], and the Trustees of the late James Williamson Esqr
