015.16 The remains of this ancient structure still to be seen in the old church yard consist of a small portion of what appears to have been a side door which must have been a comparatively modern addition to the original structure, there are no records of the original building extant prior to the date of the reformation, but it has passed thro serveral changes being first a Roman Catholic place of worship next Episcopalian & latterly Presbyterian
GRAVE YARD [St Marnoch's Church] [Graveyard] 015.16 The Graveyard contain the remains of General Gordon, who served under the Russian Emperor Peter the Great, and afterwards took a prominent part in the Rebellion of 1715. there is neither monument or stone to mark the place where his remains were interred. There is a tradition that St. Marnoch was also buried here; no one in the locality knows the exact age of the Grave yard, but it is generally supposed to be Coeval with the Church.
