Tower of Deskford Continued from the other side 009.01 [continued from page 53] "but there now remains only one rooms length, vaulted below, with 3 storeys and a garret. It bears no date. Adjoining this tower there was formerly a chapel called St Johns Chapel, upon one of the walls of which there is an inscription, bearing the name of Alexander Ogilvie with the Ogilvies Arms & Motto and dated 1551".
The New Stat: [Statistical] Account states that -
"there is likewise close to the Church, the Ruin of an old tower, or Castle, Called the Tower of DesKford which has been the family residence of the chief proprietors in the parish.
