A small round hill in shape of a Basin with its mouth downward it is well cultivated and laid out with Stone fences etc, there are two Small nameless farm houses on it. It is very likely that it is from this hill the village of [Barrhill] took its name, as the village is of modern erection; it is [the property] of the Trustees of the late Sir W. Fettes
