016 | This burial place is private property used exclusively for the internment of the Weir family it is situated at in or near the old grave yard formerly in connection with the parish church of Ardrossan. See site on trace.- The burial place above referred to is a square of about 44 links walled outside having a hedge parallel to the sides and close to the wall planted with Ash and Elm trees between them is a Monument of the Tuscan order surmounted by a pediment having the following cut in a sunk panel of black marble. This burial place was created by Hugh Weir of Kirkhall. Dorothy Hunter his wife died September 26 1787 aged 67. Hugh Weir died January 9 1800 aged 72 years. Helen Fay wife of Robert Weir died April 20, 1824 aged 56. Robert Weir died 31 July 183 aged 81. |
