[South] West by the Firth of Clyde. It comprehends about 11 square miles. It has about 3 miles of sea coast. There are some con-considerable eminences in it - Knock Jargon rises upwards of 700 feet above sea level. The hilly lands on the Northern quarter
of it average in height about 400 feet. In it are some antiquities such as Forts, Churches &c,- see elsewhere in Name book.
