129 Two rocks situated about 2½ miles N. [North] from "Eilean Dubh Beag." & about 1½ mile N.W. [North West] from Belnahua in the parish of Jura The largest of these rocks rises out of the sea almost perpendicularly to a height of about 70 feet. There is only one place where it is possible to effect a landing on this rock on the E. [East] side & in the finest weather it is both difficult & dangerous. The smallest, which is also the northernmost, is flat and only rises a few feet above sea level. Sig. [Signification] Black Calm

There are a number of houses on this island, occupied Chiefly by men employed in the slate quarries, for which it is famous. The area of this island is about 25 acres, & is the property of Bailie Morrison Glasgow.
