151 An ancient burial ground situated a short distance S. W. [South West] of Crarae Inn. It is still used as a burying place for the district. Situated in the burial ground is an enclosure, formerly used as a place of interment by the proprietors of Minard, and now near the ruins of the old church is to be seen the two portions of an ancient Cross, sculptured, in another part is to be seen a sculptured tombstone said to have been brought from Iona.

STONE CISTS FOUND [Crarae] Stone Coffins containing Human bones & Ashes found Peter Smith

151 Some time ago four stone coffins containing human bones, and ashes were found near the ruins of the old Church, and in a mound in a field below Crarae Inn another was found also containing Bones and Ashes. The mound at one time was surmounted by a Standing Stone.

"The church appears to have stood originally at Killevin or Killenewen near Crarae on Lochfine where a burying ground still remains" Origins Parochiales.
Neither of these are of the Iona pattern, though the sculptured cross is of great age, doubtless. T. P. W.
