021 | There was once a fine spring well here, but it now covered in, it was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The late Revd. Dr. [Reverend Doctor] Pratt says in his history of Buchan Appendix AA. p. [page] 373. "There is a well in the hollow between Clachriach and Bruxie, called the 'Lady's Well;' in all probability in honour of the Virgin Mother, to whom the neighbouring abbey was dedicated. |
