030 Mr. Cruickshank the farmer of of Little Blackpots, removed a large stone which used to stand a few inches up above the surface of the road, and in doing so came upon a fine Urn, it contained small pieces of calcined bones.
FLINT ARROWHEADS FOUND HEREABOUTS [North Crofts of Cortiecram] Flint arrowheads found hereabout. Mr. Gordon Laing, N [North] Crofts, Cortiecram 030 Mr. Gordon Laing says, that he has often found flint arrowheads hereabout.

030 This name applies to a deep hollow in the hill face, which extends from a little north of the North Crofts of Cortiecram, to a little north of the farm of Greencroft. Tradition says, that the cows' which used to feed here always gave three times as much butter as the rest of them, and in consequence the place was called the Kirns or the Cream Kirns.
