029 | In 1859 a fine specimen of a stone coffin was laid bare by some workmen who were digging for sand on the site of Rotten Cairn it contained a human Skeleton lying almost north and south a few years after another coffin was found about 2 feet and a half by 2 feet the head pointed towards the north west ant [and] the foot south east it contained an urn with burnt bones and ashes. |
