054 An old road at one time crossed the Don near How Ferry, passed the south end of the graveyard, and, crossing the Ury close to and north of the Bass, led on to Caskieben. Where it crossed the neck of land between the Don and the Ury, it is said a man named Walker occassionally committed a robbery and murder, and this is supposed to have given rise to this name.

054 No remains of this church are now in existence. Sculptured Stones have been dug up from its site two of which are still lying in the graveyard and a third outside, with the sculptures face downward. The Church must have been very ancient according to the following extract, "Bull of Pope Celestine III confirming grant by David Earl of Huntingdon to the Abbey of Lindores dated Ides of March 1195 at the Lateran -" Includes the church of Rohail with its chapels of Inverurie and Monkegin" Antiquities of Aberdeen and Banff Shires. Spalding Club Vol. [Volume] 4, page 501.
