the Battle of Slioch was fought A.D. 1307, as posts of communication for his Army. This knoll has lately been opened but nothing save fine sand and gravel has been found in it; from the difference of its soil to that of the surrounding field it is supposed to be artificial. The origin of the name is unknown unless it means a meeting point or place.
