098 A dwelling house, one storey high, thatched and in good condition, occupied by one of Lord Fifes' Gamekeepers. On a Knoll, not far distant from this cottage, stands a small monument, erected, it is said, by one of the proprietors of this estate (Earl of Fife's) who supposed its site to be the middle of Scotland.
