081 | This is the remains of what was at one time a very large Ash tree only the trunk about 6 feet high now remains it is considered that the Old Chapel for Aboyne and Tullich must have stood Somewhere adjacent to this tree from the name and also from a well which also stood near to the tree and was Called Chapel Well. the well was destroyed a few years ago. there is no trace of it on the ground now. and there is none that can tell the whereabouts of the Chapel but the conjecture that it must be somewhere near the tree and well. |
