Local tradition has it that this was Malcolm 111 place of Observation when he defeated the Danes & drove them to the sea at Crudden & that the battle began on Monday Morning or Monday's dawn now corrupted to Monandavan.
The Battle took place at "Culblean"in Tullich Parish on the west side of Dinnet Burn.
