Total Valuation of the Parish of Kelton Three thousand five hundred and ninety eight pounds.
At desire of the late Sir William Douglas Baronet, the first ten denominations of the Estate in this Parish now belonging to his Heirs amounting to £334 Scots were entered in the Valuation Roll of 14 June 1799 in these general terms viz.
Castle Douglas £92; Borough of Castle Douglas £120; and Craigley £122;
But that arrangement having been irregular and ultra vires of the Commissioners, the former denominations are here restored at the particular sums of the valued Rent warranted by the Records
At desire of John Heron of Ingliston, the forst two denominations of his Estate in this Parish were entered under the general name of Kelton hill at a Valuation of £147 Scots; and the other six denominations were entered under the general name of Ingliston at a Valuation of £142 Scots in the Valuation Roll of 14 June 1799.
But that arrangement having been irregular and ultra vires of the Commissioners, the former denominations are here restored at the particular sums of the valued Rent warranted by the Records
