A survey of the FEMALE SERVANTS TAX. in the Burgh of
Peebles from the 5 of April 1786 to the 5 April 1787 by William Branton Surveyor
I William Brunton Surveyor do hereby Certify that upon Carefull examination of the Several Rates
and dutys I find the amount in whole to the sum of five shills ster [shillings sterling] and that upon the twelfth day of
October I delivered to John Hyslop Collector of said dutys for the Burgh aforesaid an
exact Duplicate of the above Accounts examined and compared with the foregoing which Contained
my Oath that Requisitions were left with the Several Gentlemen or at their dwelling houses That They
are both in the Same and Set against their Several names
