031 | [Situation] At the S.E. [South East] Side of Coreholm Hill & about 1 7/8 miles West of Drummore. A deep Glen of the farms of Coreholm Hill & Clanyard the side of which are covered with furze and underwood in the bottom of the Glen runs a Small Stream to its influx with Clanyard Bay. It derives its name from a very deep hole at the corner of a small Garden where there are some old trees of a large size. Tradition of the Country people says the Gordons of Clanyard had formerly a Castle here. |
