A tolerable large hill on the farm of the same name the surface of which is mostly Arable land except a Small portion of the S.E. [South East] Side or Base is covered with furze & underwood. Situate close to the N.W. [North West] of the Glen of the Hole. the farm of Coreholm Hill probably takes its name from the hill. on it is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station called by the Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Party "Kirkhome"

031 [Situation] At the S.E. [South East] Side of Coreholm Hill & about 1 7/8 miles West of Drummore.
A deep Glen of the farms of Coreholm Hill & Clanyard the side of which are covered with furze and underwood in the bottom of the Glen runs a Small Stream to its influx with Clanyard Bay. It derives its name from a very deep hole at the corner of a small Garden where there are some old trees of a large size. Tradition of the Country people says the Gordons of Clanyard had formerly a Castle here.
