034 [Situation] At the north end of the village of Isle of Whithorn.
This name applies to a Small Square building three stories high Said to be of great antiquity. A Stone in the building bears date 1674 supposed to be the time when the Castle was rebuilt. It presents a castilated appearance having a round tower in the N [North corner] a dwelling house is now attached to the Castle.

A small spring well considered by the inhabitants to be a godd chalybeate spa and some years ago the water was strong tasted, but owing to a mill dam being so near and [rather] higher than the well the water has become much weaker
