This name is applied to the thoroughfare leading from the Main Street of Whithorn to the Established Church & has houses on the N [North] side & only part of the way on the other where it debouches from the Main Street is an Archway , the abutments of which appears to be of neat antiquity. it bears the arms of the Bishop of Galloway Surmounted by a Bishop's Mitre.
