This name applies to Quarries on the farm of Grennan the description of which is clay Slate of a bluish colour, it is not much used for building but chiefly for Agricultural purposes, Drains etc. on Logan Estate, the farms of which must be supplied first & after sold to all that may require them. These Quarries of Greenan & Kilstay gave employment to 6 men throughout the year - they are let to James L. Johnston, Kilstay Moor.

A small portion of sandy beach on the shore of the farm of Grennan used as a Shelter for small fishing boats. It takes its name from a high or declivity above it over which the road from Stranraer to Drumore passes.
