A good arable field of a rising eminence on Logan Demesne on which are which are four Standing Stones erected for the purpose of Cattle to rub themselves. It is bounded on the East side by the road from Port Logan to Stranraer on the S. [South] West side by a gentle eminence called West Thorney-these two Thorneys was formerly divided by a fence the track of which may be seen by a row of thorn trees which are still in the site of fence there is a Car road leads through those fields to Logan farm Yard East & West Thorney takes there name from a quantity of thorns growing on them at one time. |
