A considerable old ruin situated in Tower Planting and has been erected in the form of a Castle, its tradition is handed down as having been erected by the Hannahs, an ancient family in the Parish of Sorbie. A little South of the Tower there is a square mound of clay which at one time in all probability was a Camp. It is upon the estate of the Earl of Galloway.
