019 A considerable hill the Surface of which is arable Land It is of an oblong Shape, it is the principal hill of arable Land in the farm of the Boreland from its Summit there is an extensive view of the Surrounding Country my informants Says that there was formerly a Fort on the top but is now defaced which probably gave rise to the name Doon it is Situated about the Centre of the Boreland farm about 25 chains West of the farm House and on the property of Colonel Stopford of Penninghame
