This is the remains of an ancient Cairn on the farm of Cairnmacneillie Situate near the west side of the [road] leaving from Glenluce to CairnRyan the stones have been removed from [it] for building fences etc. tradition says it was Constructed to the memory of a man named [McNeillie] who was Killed here About 1/4 mile SW [South West] of this spot is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station [] high which is apparently a track of an ancient Cairn the Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station is Called "Cairnmacneillie"
