On Examining it I am of the Opinion its only a Farmers Drain and from the Situation of the town (on a Steep Hill of a Sandy Soil) I am led to believe there never was a Sewer running in this direction. David Douglas ploughed this Land 60 years ago and has tenanted it 50 years he is of this Opinion. There is a place near Muirston on the North Side about 1 mile distant Said to be the Burial ground of this town |
