010 A large Hill of an oval Shape and is very Steep on the Eastern Side; The Soil of it Consists of heathy pasture, it is Situated about 5 Miles N. E. [North East] of Stranraer and is on the property of the Earl of Stair. The Deils Dyke, a remarkable antiquity mentioned, in the Statistical account of Scotland, No. 21 page 232.- is traceable across the Southern Side of this Hill on the Summit of this hill is a Trig [Trigonometrical] Station ◬ Called by Trig. [Trigonometrical] Party . Beach Probably after the name of the Farm, Farm & Name is Beach on the Eastern Side of this Trig [Trigonometrical] Station is another Trig [Trigonometrical] Station Called by Trig [Trigonometrical] Party. Beach connecting Point.
