008 a small stone bridge of one arch over the castle stewart burn and on the main road from newton stewart to maybo;e, it is said to have been erected in 1826 at the joint expence of the countyand col stepford blair. it is now a county bridge.

008 an old and somewhat ruinous bridge of one arch over the castlestewart burn it stands on what was at one time the main road from newton stewart to maybole, in consequence of certain improvements on penninghame demesne , the above road has been divertd at the joint expence of the county and proprieter of the demesne.
