004 It is a Small Port where Boats used to Land with Lime. Sea-wreck sic. Now of little note. It lies N.W. [North West] from Kirkcolm village about 4 miles. Name said to derive from the word lee a liquid formerly obtained at this place in the process of making Kelp.
