Part of the north side or wall of this house is said to be part of the wall of a chapel which anciently Stood on this ground although no other part of the Site of this ancient building can be traced it is also said that a convent or nunnery Stood near the Chapel but no trace of it remains nor Can the Site of it be ascertained it appears that a burying ground was adjoining the Chapel as pieces of coffins bones etc were dug up at different times during the process of cultivation.- "On the farm called Kirkbride there was once a church dedicated to St Bride It foundations may still be traced a part of the churchyard wall forms the Side of a Cottage. A tenant on the adjoining land remembers that forty years ago he dug up decayed pieces of coffins with iron handles Skulls and other bones.
