006 | [Situation] About ΒΌ mile north of Uphall village This is the place originally called Uphall before the other sprung up, it is sometimes called Uphall, Upper Uphall, & Old Uphall which latter is recommended to be adopted by the Authorities. It consists of the Church the Clergyman's dwelling and two rows of one storey dwellings at right Angles - the northernmost house was formerly a farmstead, but now a feu - the old thrashing machine is still standing. The houses are all in good repair & occupied by laborers. The proprietor is the Earl of Buchan - |
