002 | [Situation] At the N. W. [North West] end of the burgh of Queensferry Before this harbour was constructed the landing places were the rocks in the neighbourhood of the town at places Called "The Binks", The Craigs" & Port Neuk _ It is of a quadrangular form the w. [west] side being slightly Curved _ it will admit vessels of 300 tons burthen but few enters it above 60 or 70 _ grain for the distillery is the principalimport. The dues are charged not by tonnage but so much is charged Certain quantities of the different Articles that enter. and Freemen are only charged half the rugulated dues_ It is under the Control of the Magistrate and Town Council __ |
