010 | [Situation] In the S E [South East] portion of the parish of Livingston A small village composed of houses one, and two stories high; all in good repair; with gardens attached. The principal buildings are, the parish Church and Manse; the Free Church, and Manse; the parish School; and a large inn. There are 3 grocers, one smithy, one wrights shop and one tailor's and draper. The inhabitants are chiefly composed of agricultural laborers. The Earl of Roseberry is the proprietor. Livingstone is very often used without the letter e, but the e, has been used on all the church records from the earliest period to the present time. |
