006 | [Situation] In the S E [South East] corner of the parish of Linlithgow A handsome mansion erected in 1819 the front & west being two stories high and the East side one story - on each side of the avenue approaching from the W. [West] are ornamental shrubberies neat kept and in front there is a large open space ornamented with scattered trees - There is also in front attached to the building a handsom Green house & Chinese Verandah. The Stables, which are large and a short distance N.W. [North West] of the house and on the S.E. [South East] are two well kept vegetable and flower gardens - It is the property of Mrs. Stewart resident. On the property is a family burial vault or mausoleum built about 15 years ago by the late Capn. [Captain] Stewart |
