005 [Situation] At the west Side of the Avon Viaduct
A small hill On the E. [East] Side of the River Avon from the the W. [West] side of which the Avon Viaduct Commences, the W. [West] & South Sides are very steep the latter being Covered with Mixed wood, this hill rises high above the Burgh Mills, and at the formation of the Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway Several Stone Coffins Containing human remains were found Were dug up, the Railway passes right over the Summit - tradition states that peace was ratified here after the Battle of Linlithgow Bridge
