A Small hill N.W [North West] of the town and rising above the Avenue leading from the Borrowstounness Road to Longcroft House and Loch Paper Mill, it is very precipitous On the North, East & West but smoth On the Surface except the E. [East] side On Which there is an Old Sand Pit. The South is a gradual slope, and there are a number of scattered trees On it. The Origin of this name is not Known.
