001 | [Situation] In the NW. [North West] Corner of the parish of Borrowstounness A large tract of arable land, situated at the north west corner of the Parish of Borrowstounness. It is bounded on the west by the River Avon, on the north and east by the Frith of Forth, and on the south by a long brae, to the base of which the sea had washed, before the carse was enclosed. Its surface is below the level of high water mark, but it is protected by large embankments of earth. |
